GETTING HERE

Get to Alang’s Rawa from the port of Mersing, which is just three hours drive from Singapore, or four-five hours drive from Kuala Lumpur.

By plane: For international visitors, both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are central hubs for South-East Asia, and are easily accessible from most big cities.

By car: From Singapore, cross over to Johor Bahru via the Woodlands Causeway. Travel 40km North-East towards Kota Tinggi. Once past Kota Tinggi (there is no need to enter the town centre), continue heading north for about 90km until you reach Mersing.

A taxi one way from Singapore to Mersing costs around SGD250.

From KL, take the North-South Expressway, turn off at Ayer Hitam, head for Kluang then onto Mersing.

By bus: Buses from KL leave from the TBS terminal, and cost around RM40.

Transnasional operates a bus service direct from Singapore to Mersing, leaving from The Plaza at Beach road and costing around SGD58. Alternatively you can take the Causeway Link or the 170 bus from Singapore’s Queen Street bus station to Johor Bahru. From there, buses to Mersing leave from Larkin bus station and cost around RM14. The bus station in Mersing is around 10 minutes from the port, so you may need to take a taxi if you have many bags.
